Airplanes - make a wish right now...

Wishing....

Wishing always gives me hope, that's why everyday as I pass under the Bosphorus bridge either by boat or by car I make a wish and its the same wish day after day. I was told as a child that wishes you made while under a bridge came true...I have one wish that I want more than anything else in this world. Thats why day after day I wish for it....
Another wish object is the first star, the brightest star or a shooting star. Since its rare to see shooting stars I usually make a wish on the first star I see, which is usually the brightest one with the typical phrase "starlight starbright first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, Have the wish, I wish tonight".
Its nice to daydream because it gives you hope and something to look forward too. I totally recommend it :)

On an island with the stars of LOST...

Last night there was a party at Su ada which is man made island in the middle of the Bosphorus with restaurants, clubs and a swimming pool. The party was for the opening of a new channel on a digital platform and my dear Dilhan invited me too :) The most important part of this party was that it was the network which broadcasted LOST in Turkey. So for the new channel party they brought Sayyid and Jin from LOST, Ben Mckenzie from OC and SOUTHLAND and Shemar Moore from CRIMINAL MINDS.
In the beautiful atmosphere of the Bosphorus Ozan Dogulu deejayed the whole night and there were live performances by Sila, Beduk, Bora Uzer and Kenan Dogulu. Everyone was after the LOST stars especially Sayyid. But unfortunately Naveen was trapped in a special section with the general manager of the network along with some department heads and a bodyguard standing in front of them. He looked totally bored. He got up and came next to us for pictures without us even asking him. Very sweet and good looking guy. Jin and the others were in the special section next to them bu not trapped like Naveen was. Anyways I got my picture with Naveen and drank the night away. At the end of the night while we were waiting for the boats to take us back Naveen came to board his boat and after a nice stare he waved goodbye and got LOST in the deep waters of the Bosphorus heading to Angelique to continue the party there.

Sun, sand, swimming...and my birthday!

This past weekend I opened the beach season at my friend Zeynep's summerhouse. There's nothing more peaceful in the world then lying under the sun, with music that soothes your soul on your ipod, the sound of the waves crashing, the sweet wind blowing and the sand between your toes...All your worries go away. Thats exactly how my weekend was :) The only sad part was that the remnants of the flood that happened at the end of last summer were there.. Half of the sand where we used to sunbathe was burried under the salty water.
I guess I was really tired, I spent the whole weekend sleeping. In the moments when I was awake I was either at the beach, out eating or watching the world cup. I send my deep respect to whomever invented those vuvuzuelas...The only thing I'm gonna remember from this world cup are them. Nothing interesting happened sports wise.
We came back to the city on Sunday which was my birthday. I thank God for all of my loved ones. I'm very lucky to have them in my life. My phone rang all day long and my facebook wall was full of greetings..This year I didn't really feel like celebrating or organizing anything. But on Sunday night we celebrated my birthday along with Zeynep's moms bday which was the next day at their local hangout. It was fun :)

Rihanna Concert

Last night I went to Rihanna's concert with my friends thanks to the invites that Dilhan and Seher arranged for me :) I love her music up to her last album. Its like a rock music album. I like rock don't get me wrong, but Rihanna's previous type of music was much better if you ask me. She sang all her popular songs and stuff, they were great. Not knowing what to expect from her stage perfomance I was a little let down. She basically just sang her songs and left. She had dancers and all but there was something missing. I guess I'm used to the major theatrical stages, costumes and choreography. Kylie Minogue is one of the ladies when it comes to live performance in every aspect. Rihanna wore the same costume the whole show. She basically sat out most of the songs, I don't know if she was tired or if thats how she always is. However all in all it was a good show..
There is one thing that I have to mention though. Unfortunately people here do not know how to watch a concert. There is a constant circulation of people passing around you, pushing you, bumping into you..I just don't get it. If you're not gonna watch the concert then why do you come in the first place. Its disrespectful to the artist and to everyone around. I'm right a manual on how to watch concerts for these people...

Sailing out to new seas...

After about a year and a half away from corporate life and working at home, I'm back to working again. But this time its the kind of job that I've been waiting for. Out of all of the places I worked at, as for the content of the job, my favorite one was the basketball federation. This time I'm going to be doing similar things but for sailing races. So far I have finished my first week at work and everything is going dandy. The people are great. I adjusted immediately. My friend Erinc is superb helping me out in everything. I'm so grateful to Kivanc, Dennis and Erinc for this opp. :)

Summertime

I'm such a summer person. I just love it...I wouldn't mind if the whole year was summer. I do like snow and skiing and all but I could always go somewhere for that. Since I last wrote I've been working on orders and stuff. I attented this arts and crafts bazaar. It was an interesting experience. I met alot of cool and creative people. Besides that I'm up and about all over the place with my friends and all. When it comes to my friends, I don't know whats up with 2010, but as for relationships, it has not done too many people good. Two of my closest couple friends, one married and the other practically married are on the very of break up. Its a total shocker to me because these two relationships were the ones that I always looked up too and that gave me hope. My friends are going through a really hard time and it hurts me too. The sad part is besides trying to be there for them at all times there is nothing more you can do to fix it. I pray for all of us that our broken hearts get mended asap...
